About Tai Chi
The ancient art of Tai Chi Chuan has been a fun and exciting way for adults to relax and exercise for over 600 years. By practicing methods intended to focus and discipline the mind through body exercises, a person can reduce stress, gain confidence, improve wellness, and gain flexibility. By applying the interesting and exotic techniques of Tai Chi into a contemporary lifestyle, many adults find that what they learn in class are lessons that can be applied to everyday in life.

About Sifu Scott Hiemenz
Scott, a Western New York native, has been involved in the martial arts since 1973. During the 1980’s Scott began studying the depths of Chinese Philosophy, and in 1989, Scott began studying the Grand Ultimate Art of of Tai Chi Chuan. In 1992, Scott founded the 8 Tigers Academy of Tai Chi, a learning center that is dedicated to offering teachings on all levels: Physical, Mental, and Spiritual. Since 2003, Scott has offered an outreach program, through Community Education, that is designed to make it easier for people get involved in any Tai Chi program.
Introduction to Tai Chi Chuan
For many years through community education, 8 Tigers has offered a specialized sampler class for beginners who are interested in getting involved in a Tai Chi program. The goal of this class is to provide students with knowledge, information, and some core rudimentary skills which are common to all Tai Chi programs. This will enable students to successfully begin learning the art of Tai Chi Chuan. Known more commonly as Tai Chi, students will be taught how to effectively learn this style of exercise. Proper body alignment, stances, weight shifting, and breathing techniques are some of the essential basics that will be covered.

Students are encouraged to wear loose fitting clothing and sensible shoes to class, and to bring a notebook. A visual recording device is highly recommended. Attending class regularly is an important step toward personal achievement and enlightenment.
Feng Shui Your Home in One Easy Lesson
Many people like the idea of using the ancient art of Feng Shui to redecorate their home or office. This class will teach you a simple method of creating positive balanced changes to any room area. This class will provide you with a basic, easy to understand, worksheet packet, so you can begin to plan your new look décor immediately. All you need to bring is a notebook, a good #2 pencil, and your imagination, and let the fun begin. Colored pencils are optional.
